Born in 2050 in a rural/near-wilderness part of Puyallup, near the Carbanado neighborhood. Son of two Irish expatriot Orks, Padraig and Ciara. The impoverished family squatted with a tight-knit community of other Orks (many driven out during the Night of Rage) in a series of abandoned mine shafts. On the surface, small farms were maintained, and some members of the community would even go out on hunting expeditions into the wilderness of lava flows and abandoned towns. The Flynn family themselves also maintained a hydroponic grow op (of semi-legal and illegal plants), with grow lights powered by illegal power taps.
For a kid growing up in the Barrens, Sean actually had an okay childhood. Around age nine, Sean began manifesting magic talent. This caused some consternation for his very religious parents, but eventually they accepted it enough to let Sean be mentored by a local street mage/unliscenced talismonger, "Rabbi Kallisti".
By the early 2060s, the Chulo gang had begun to muscle in on the little community. In 2065, following the general mayhem of Crash 2.0, they made their move, and easily made themselves bosses of neighborhood. Sean's family resisted. Only Sean and his father Padraig made it out alive.
Sean and Padraig hid out in Tacoma for a few months, before settling in the Ork Underground, where they have remained for the past decade. Sean supports himself and his now-quite-elderly father by, among other thing, doing shadowruns.
Sean is a chaos mage who follows the Dog totem. Although you'd think "chaos" mages are, well, chaotic, (and many are), the name refers more to the ecclectic nature of the tradition: useful elements are appropriated from other traditions. The practice of having a mentor totem, for instance, is more of an archetypally shamanic tradition. But, Sean, not a shaman, has one anyway. Followers of Dog tend to be loyal to friends and loved ones, occasionally stubborn, and good trackers.
Sean is only Sean to a few people. His runner name is "Kessler". It doesn't really mean anything--he just saw it in a book once, and thought it was a distinctive name.
Sean is allergic to soy products. Meaning a lot of basic food stuff in the Sixth World is off-limits to him, particularly food for poor people. Sean actually prefers to buy fresh food, and he can even cook a semi-decent meal. When he has to buy processed/synthetic food, he buys krill-based or mycoprotein (i.e. mushroom)-based products.
Sean maintains a "Middle" lifestyle in terms Shadowrun mechanics. His apartment, faily deep in the Underground, is actually a fairly small (less than 50 square meters (i.e. less than 500 square feet)), but space is expensive when you have to tunnel out bedrock. Also, a lot of his living expenses come from buying fresh food. Since anyone non-Ork would immediately look incredibly suspicious in a residential part of the Underground, the living space has the "" advantage. Sean
59-year-old male Ork. He still carries some bias against Elves (for turning Ireland into Tir Na Nog), and against humans (for the Nightt of Rage). Padraig has a natural green thumb, and maintains a small hydroponic garden in the Underground. He would prefer to grow plants purely for aesthetic reasons, but has to resort to growing illegal drugs to sell to support himself. Sean also helps pay for his basic essentials, since Padraig is quite elderly for an Ork, and thus slowing down mentally and physically. (Represented by Sean's "Dependeny" disadvantage).
