On Mitre, we were separated and questioned by Argonaut investigators. Most of us simply did not volunteer any information, except for Markus and Crow, who were taken aside for further questioning. Markus kept quiet from that point. Crow, however, squaked. He divulged nearly everything in an edited XP feed via his mneumonic aug. He also insinuated that Azif had something to do with the pirate raid on Angels One. He did, however, omit parts of the story that made he himself look bad. Based on Crow's story, the Argonauts dutifully broadcast an editorial on the whole incident over Radio Argosy. At this point, we were definitely "persons of interest" with regard to the destruction of Angels One.

Mr. Chan contacted us, quite angry about the whole situation, demanding to meet the party in person. He agreed to meet us in a module in Mitre. We were fairly nervous about meeting Mr. Chan, worried he might simply kill us for the failure. Azif took a dose of MRDR in anticipation of possible violence--he ended up liking the drug very much, gaining Moderate Addiciton. Chan took a shuttle up from Luna with two henchmen sleeved into bouncers, and we all assembled in the sequestered compartment to talk.

It turned out Chan, although quite angry, did not intend to kill us. Azif tried to talk Chan down somewhat: when Chan insinuated that the party was responsible for the destruction of Angels One, Azif claimed that the pirate raid from Fresh Kills was called in by Rajesh. Although Chan's anger was assuaged slightly, he still made it clear that our job was not done: he demanded that will still track down Rajesh and his accomplices.

We spoke with Mr. Chan some more, getting some important information: Chan suspected that Rajesh was an Omnicorp plant (Angels One turned out to be owned by the rival hyercorp "Starware"). Furthermore, Chan suspected that Rajesh and his accomplices were likely to take a scum swarm to Mars, in an attempt to avoid the security/customs at most egocasting nodes.

So, for the next three days, we prepared to rendezvous with the scum swarm, "God's Pearl Necklace". Grace spent some time research Rajesh's associates (Rajesh himself seemed pretty mysterious--we didn't even have a last name for him). She was able to dig up info on:

August Fury took leave of us at this point--she had some business producing an XP about Earth, actually made on Earth. Another person, however, joined our party, "Insufflating Stardust", a scum fighter who was just coming off a very long simulspace peyote trip.

[OOC: why did Mr. Stardust join our party? I can't remember: did we hire him to provide protection? Did he just think we were cool?]

The newly-emerged AGI, Metatron, also came with us in Markus's server. [OOC: what happened to Gemma?]

We embarked on the Fresh Fish, a capacitous craft with a population of 11,000. The Fish operated as a sort of customs/port of entry to the rest of the swarm: new arrivals were directed here before they visited other craft. We mostly seemed to be fairly quick in adapting to the scum lifestyle. Azif, asked if he had any WMDs, declared his dick. Azif and Insufflating then started to cook up some idea for modding Joey's synthmorph. Crow got asked about his spider container, to which he replied, "Look, it's a spider."

Grace attempted to obtain some private quarters. She was able to hook the party up with a space provided by Newt. The room was a partitioned space in what was a space elevator car--a space elevator car that played a part in the Fall, before it was ejected off the beanstalk, and ended up lashed onto the core ship (called the Platinum Dollar before the scum rechristened it "Fresh Fish"). Now having privacy in the form of walls, Grace was able to further secure the room by killing the various voyeuristic spimes that were broadcasting.

Joe, Insufflating, and Azif ended up throwing a huge party after they got on. Azif started to cook up some of the drug "juice", while Insufflating distilled "several dozen gallons" of whiskey. Azif was also able to hook up with a guy who offered to "totally put wheels on the juice". Joe, now in a synthmorph modded with speakers and a projection system, started a concert/rave, announcing over a shipwide intercom that it was "party o'clock". Joe also got sent a nacralgortihm, "DDR", making him experience pleasure from dancing. As the rave went on, the juice and liquor were combined into "Flavoraid", which was aerosolized and dispersed through the ship. About half of the party or so ended up not staying in the room Grace obtained--they instead stayed with various hookups they made (Joe mentioned he was cruising for some "hot neopigs"). For putting on the rave, they also got an @-Rep boost [IIRC].

Following the race (about a half day after we embarked on the barge), Mr. Chan contacted us, reminding us about the reason we were on the swarm in the first place; he also mentioned that he had "eyes on us", in case we decided to reneg our duties.

As we thought about our quarries, we came to a few conclusions:
