Aboard the "Yolanda" following our hit against Rajesh and his crew, Atrimedes began to assist with triage of the many badly-hurt people who were being brought in from the disaster aboard the "In Service"/"Zoa". For his assistance, his @-Rep was booster +10. The party (sans Grace, who was uninjured) decided to hang out aboard the Yolanda for about 16 hours to heal their wounds. After that, they departed the "Yolanda" back to their place on the "Fresh Fish".

Azif/Babou noticed something strange at this point: the party's hacker, Grace Dawo, was no longer active on the mesh. Then, when Azif and Joe got back to the quarters that Grace had secured, they saw her, floating there, hooked up to an ego bridge. Azif did a quick assessment of the scene (he used his async powers of "deep scan"), only to learn that the morph floating there, which had previously been Grace, was now mindless. Azif did a check on the egobridge logs, but found they had been tampered with.

The remaining party members were preplexed by what was up at this point: had Grace taken the loot for herself? So they tried to examine the various spimes and logs (many of which had seemed to be tampered with) while also doing social inquiries (many of which got rebuffed). They were able to piece together a partial narrative of what Grace was up to while they were healing aboard the "Yolanda":

Azif/Babou really did not want to inform Mr. Chan about the possible betrayal by Grace, but about eight hours following their discovery of her mindless body, Mr. Chan queried them, demanding a conversation. Azif informed Chan than they had killed Rajesh, recovered his stack, but then "someone" had walked off with his stack. Mr. Chan was quite angry about this.

The party continued its investigation in earnets. Finally, Joe Corso's muse was able to discover that some people had egocast to Mars. Atrimeedes did some social networking, and discovered that five egos, in all, had jumped ship for Elysium City on Mars. With this info, Atrimedes concluded that their enterprise had been "double crossed".

With Rajesh, Grace, and company having a 16-hour head-start on Mars, the party quickly tried to arrange their own egocasts. Azif/Babou attempted to network with his criminal contacts, who were not associated with Mr. Chan, to be beamed and resleeved to Elysium. However, Mr. Chan, at this point, feel very dubious about the party, insisted that the party use his facilities. (Mr. Chan also mentioned that, to further incentivize success, he had deleted the party's ego backups).

Elysium City

After a bit of time arranging what sort of bodies they wanted on the other end, the party egocast to a warehouse controlled by Mr. Chan in Elysium City on Mars.

Resleeving and gearing up: Joe Corso

Joe Corso got resleeved into a "security pod (space marine variant)", male. He geared up with some weapons on loan from Mr. Chan.

Resleeving and gearing up: Azif/Li Krause

Azif (now IDing as "Li Krause") got resleeved into a "fury", female Phillipina. He geared up with some weapons on loan from Mr. Chan.

Resleeving and gearing up: Atrimedes

Atrimedes got resleeved into a "menton", male, with the "toughness" advantage. He geared up with some weapons on loan from Mr. Chan. He was also able to acquire a (former) police babboon, "Scoob". Scoob had an orbital hash habit, and Atrimedes was advised to let Scoob continue to smoke because, sober, the money had "agression problems".

The party awoke in the warehouse, all someone dissoriented in their new bodies. Mr. Chan insisted they not take any time to recuperate, however. As they were gearing up, they were introduced to a Mars-side contact, "Fatu Meaole", a Redneck scavenger, mechanic, part-time hacker, survivalist. Fatu grabbed a chameleon cloak and a light pistol loaded with zap rounds. Azif began to futher adopt the ID of "Li Krause", lifelogging under the new ID that he "was back". When Fatu inquired why everyone wanted Rajesh so badly, Li answered him that Rajesh had been repsonsible for the terrorist attack on the Angels One facility on Mars.

Azif, trying to further apopt the Li ID, spent a bit of time doing some minor criminal work. Fatu, meanwhile, introduced them to Mars, and suggested they stay at a coffin hotel in the poor Palembegn neighborhood--Fatu implied the hotel was "relatively safe" (relative to the rough neighborhood). Atrimedes didn't wish to slum it, however, and instead got a room at a middle-class hotel.

As the party considered their objective, viz tracking Rajesh and company, they decided to investigate the resleeving facility their quarry had beamed to. Unfortunately, it was in a gang-controlled territory. Also, considering that Mars is more lawful than a scum swarm, carrying around even a sub-machinegun tends to attract unwanted attention from authorities. So, we decided to acquire some sort of vehicle, possibly in the form factor of a van, to better haul around our weapons and gear. (Fatu had a truck of his own, but it was already piled high with gear and other stuff).
